Our week of celebrations for the church's 20th anniversary began
with a packed church hall for the well known Scottish folk singer
Alistair McDonald.
Alistair thrilled the audience with a wide variety of songs and anecdotes, even taking people's requests for their favourites at the end. Throughout the fun he pointed us gently to Jesus, the rock on which his faith and hope is built (which, as he noted, is a much more solid rock than the Northern variety!) |

It's with a mixture of excitement and sadness that we wave three of
our teenagers off to university this month.
Stuart is heading to Robert Gordon's University to study law. Meanwhile Rachel is off to Strathclyde University to study prosthetics and orthotics and Kate is going to St. Andrews University for her pre-clinical medical training. We've really enjoyed getting to know you all and pray that you will have a great time at uni. |

Many thanks to everyone who helped make this year's holiday club such a great success. Around 50 children had a great time during the five days of the club.
View the slides from the presentation at the end of club BBQ to get a flavour of what went on.
Well done to the Girls' Brigade who won several prizes at the recent Divisional competitions, including 1st in the drill, 2nd in the Brigader circuits and 3rd in the junior pom poms. Our Junior potted sports team and the Explorers with their action songs were unplaced, but all the girls had fun and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
We also entered a team in a national Bible competition held in Motherwell. The team had to consist of one Explorer (Sorcha Hill), one Junior (Erin Crockett), one Brigader (Bethany Crockett) and one Officer (me). The day passed really quickly and the long drive down and back were worth it when we came second by the smallest of margins.
We also had a super evening at the divisional Music Hall Display which was held on Friday 16th March when our drill team and the Brigader circuit team performed. Several of the girls had also attended divisional rehearsals in Aberdeen and were able to participate in these routines with other girls from throughout Aberdeen.
At the same event Rachael Crockett received her Brigader Brooch and Warrant Officer badges, whilst Paula Henderson collected her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.

Early in February we welcomed our latest canine member, a young
German Shepherd called Jenks, for the first time.
Jenks is Pam and Eddie's latest guide dog puppy, coming hot on the heals of Cope, who has now gone on to guide dog training. Jenks has been very good during services so far, and definitely seems to enjoy the singing. We look forward to his insightful comments in Reachout magazine, written down for him by his friend Wendy, in the coming months. |
